Biography

Sarah J. Randolph was the daughter of James Randolph and Abigail Alexander. She is living in their household in the 1850 U. S. Federal Census.^[1]

She married James H. L. Inman on Sep 6, 1854, Lawrence County, Tennessee. ^[2]

He served with the 53rd Reg't Tennessee Infantry as well as the 5th Tennessee Infantry.^[3].

In the 1880 census Sarah (age 48), Keeping House, was the wife of James L. Inman in District 3, Giles, Tennessee, United States.^[4]

In the 1900 census Sarah (age 68) was the wife of James Inman in Civil District 2, Giles, Tennessee, United States.^[5]

She was living in 1901 when he provided information to the Pension board with her date of birth as 2 Apr 1831 and their marriage of Sep 6, 1854; although he didn't call her by name.^[3]

James L. Inman died May 26, 1907, in the Hospital for Soldiers in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee. He was listed as a widower; therefore Sarah died between 1901-1907, probably in Giles County, Tennessee. This writer hasn't located a death record, obituary, or cemetery record for Sarah J. Inman at this time. ^[6]

James H. L. Inman and Sarah J. Randolph Inman didn't have any children. ^[7]
