research notes
The will of John Rankin (1690 Ireland-1749 PA) mentions his wife, Margaret (who received 1/2 the plantation), and his children: sons, Richard (who got his father’s clothes), Richard (got 1/2 plantation; and the other 1/2 upon his mother’s death); and daughters, Elizabeth, Ann, Margaret, Catrin, Rebecca, and Agness. Also, two sons-in-law: William White and John Waugh. [9] Thus, we know that the aforementioned relatives succeeded him in death.
