Edith was born on the 5th August 1906 in West Ham, Essex, England UK. She is the daughter of Vernon Rashleigh and Elizabeth Staerck[1][2]. She was baptised on the 29th August 1906 in St Stephen, Upton Park, Essex, England [3]. Edith lived with her parents and grew up with them in Essex [4].
In July 1920 the entire family emigrated to Canada departing from Liverpool aboard the Metagama and arriving in Quebec [5]. Their initial residence was with her father's sister in Brantford, Ontario. By 1921 they had set up their own household [6]. Edith continued to live with her parents as a grown woman [7].
Edith never married. She passed away y on the 24th November 1993 in Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario, Canada [8].
