Genera was called "Gig" by family (pronounced "Jij"), but preferred "Gene" for her friends. She was a warm, funny, independent woman, well-loved by family and friends alike.
Gig was married three times -- first to Percy Scott (according to her, done just to get out of small-town Texas...though small-town Minnesota wasn't much better). They divorced and she moved to California. She had a brief second marriage to Allen Craig Alexander (m. 1946 in Santa Monica), and then she married Thomas "Tommy" Haley, with whom she lived out the rest of her life. She had no children.
