Biography

Jane was born 27 Aug 1819 in Ayrshire, Scotland. Her parents were James Reid and Jean Gunnel / Gemmell.

She emigrated to America in 1843 with her mother, sister Agnes Grassam, and brother Thomas Reid.

Jane Reid married Benjamin A. Crockett on 27 Nov 1847 in Henry, Ohio, United States.[1][2]

They had several children:

  1. Margaret 1848-1888
  2. Jane 1851-1854
  3. James 1853-1915[3]
  4. Horace 1855 - 1905
  5. Andros B 1857-1922
  6. Eliza 1857 -
  7. Theodore Graves 1859 - 1934 [4][5]

In the 1850 census Jane (age 30) was in Damascus, Henry, Ohio, United States.[6]

In the 1860 census Jane (age 41) was in Unity Township, Piatt, Illinois, United States.[7]

In the 1870 census Jane (age 50) was in Providence, Lucas, Ohio, United States.[8]

In the 1880 census Jane (age 61) was the wife of B. A. Crockett in Providence, Lucas, Ohio, United States. She was a Keeping House.[9]

In the 1900 census Jane (age 81) was the widowed mother of Theodore G Crockett in Providence Township, Lucas, Ohio, United States.[10]

In the 1910 census Jane (age 90) was the widowed mother of Theodore G Crockett in Providence, Lucas, Ohio, United States.[11]

Jane died 13 Dec 1910 in Providence, Lucas, Ohio. She was buried in Kruger Cemetery, Liberty Center, Henry County, Ohio.[12] Several children are linked to her grave page.
