This George Replogle is mentioned as a son of John Rinehart Replogle who

lived at Bedford Co PA in the book "History of Bedford, Somerset & Fulton":

"Rinehart Replogle Sr. was the father of fourteen children ... His sons,

David, George and Rinehart, lived in this county (Bedford Co., PA)."

This Bedford Co PA George is also mentioned by Liebegott as a son of

Rinehart Replogle, Sr. and as having d. 26 Dec 1813; and altho Liebegott also

shows him m. to Mary Stouder and having 6 ch, this appears to be in error and

apparently refers to the George Replogle who lived in Cambria Co PA and who is

now presumed to have been a son of John Philip Replogle, and therefore a

grandson of John Rinehart.

The D.A.R. application of Vivian Ellen Neal, dated 18 Sep 1959, mentions the

deed of George Gossard. It states:

"5. The said Sarah Replogle was the child of George Replogle, died at

Richland Twp, Cambria Co Penn 1844, Dec 26, and his wife Mary Stouder, died at

Cambria Co PA on (unreadable).

"Proof that Gen. 4 was a child of Gen. 5. Enclosed affidavit No. 1.

"Proof for Gen. 5. Renunciation of administration by Mary, wife or widow of

George Replogle, also Deed of George Gossard Exr. of John Gossard Dec'd to

John Lehman.

6. "The said George Replogle was the child of Rinehart Replogle Sr. born on

1724 at Europe died at Woodbury Twp. Bedford Co. Pa. on Spring of 1796 and his

first wife, died at Bedford Co., Pa.

"Proof that Gen. 5 was child of Gen. 6. His. of Bedford, Somerset & Fulton

Counties, Pa. by Waterman & Watkins, p. 341, pub. 1884.

"Proof for Gen. 6. Same as for Gen. 5, also affidavit containing information

obtained from the former Judge of Philadelphia Co., George H. Liebegott, also

a prominent genealogist and historian. Mr. Liebegott resides in Altoona, Pa.
