In 1891, he worked as a Grocers Warehouseman living at Northfield Place in Aberdeen, Scotland.[2] He was 44 years old at that point.
In 1901, he was described as a Lodger Keeper living at 15, Miller Street in Aberdeen, Scotland.[3] He was 54 years old at that point.
In 1911, he worked as a Time Keeper at an Oil Cake Manufactury living with his wife Elizabeth at 8, Esslemont Avenue in Aberdeen, Scotland.[4] William's age was given as 66 years old.[4] The couple had been married for 39 years and had had 7 children, of whom 6 were still living.[4]
