Edward was the son of Job Rice and Jean McCandlish. He was a twin of Sarah Rice.
He lived with his parents in Sheridan, Calhoun, Michigan. [1] They moved to Parma, Jackson, Michigan before 1860. [2] He lived in Jackson, Jackson, Michigan in 1880. [3] In 1887 Edward was the owner of "Central House" located at 324 Maine Street, Jackson, Michigan. [4] In 1888, Central House was owned by Peter Slayton. [5] Edward ended up living at the Poor Farm in Marengo, Calhoun, Michigan. He died there in 1901.[6][7] and is buried in East Cemetery, Grass Lake, Jackson County, Michigan. [8]
