According to the family Bible of Sarah Cordelia Richardson Gross. George Washington Richardson was born 26 May 1875. He was the adopted son of John Houston Richardson. Truth be told. I have heard two different family stories about who his real father or blood father was and most likely it was a "Wilson" The 1st story goes like this. Minerva Wilson, younger sister of Nancy Wilson who was married to John Houston Richardson married Claiborne Wilson on 20 January 1870, but for some reason he abounded his wife about the time George Washington was born. About the same time Minerva Wilson's sister Nancy also died leaving behind a baby that needed to be nursed. So to take care of both of there situations, John Houston Richardson married his sister-in-law and adopted her son George. But Minerva did not live long and died from contaminated well water leaving behind her son and John was now left with two infants to care for. So, he quickly married Susan Gaylor.
The Second Story is this provided back in 22 July 2009: July 22, 2009 Cathi L. Gross Talked with Edmond Agee Richardson Jr., Nephew of Cordie Richardson Gross, son of Edmond Agee Richardson Sr. (Emond Sr. and Cordie were Sibblings:) Edmond Agee Richardson, Jr. told me George Washington Richardson was Susan Gaylor's son, and yes he was born on May 26, 1875. His real father was a "Wilson" who had promised to marry Susan, but lied. It is unknown what happed to the real biological father, last name “Wilson" But George Washington Richardson was an illegitimate child, born out of wedlock just one month prior to his mother, Susan Gaylor marrying John Houstan Richardson. John Houstan Richardson, adopted George and raised him as his oldest son by Susan Gaylor. And most of the family thought of George as a Richardson. Susan Gaylor, Son, George W. Richardson father was a "Wilson"
So, YDNA will have to prove the Male Blood line George Washington Richardson who most likely he will be found to be a "Wilson"
As for his mother's Blood line, it will have to be proved through Autosomal DNA, or MTDNA. George may be a "Gaylor" by Susanna Gaylor or he might be a "Wilson" by Minerva, sister of Nancy Wilson who was the 1st wife of john Houston Richardson. It is yet a mystery to be solved by YDNA, MTDNA and Autosomal DNA.
