Biography

Walter Rittabard [Riddlesford], Chief Baron of Leinster, who in 1235 commanded the English of Leinster^[1]

Margaret de Ridelesford, daughter of Walter de Ridelesford, married Robert de Marisco, son of Geoffrey de Marisco, Justiciar of Ireland.^[2] They had a daughter Christiana de Marisco.^[2]

His other daughter Emmelina married firstly Hugh de Lacy, Earlo of Ulster, and secondly Stephen de Longespee.^[2]

Walter de Ridelesford was alive in 1237 but dead by May 1244.^[2] In 1244 there was an inquiry concerning the lands of Walter de Ridelesford, grandfather of Christiania, daughter and one of the heirs of Robert de Marisco.^[2]
