Westall Ridgley I was born about 1706 in South River Park, Anne Arundel, Province of Maryland, son of William Ridgley II (~1678–1719) and Jane (Westhall) Ridgley (1682–1748).
NOTE: Last name may be spelled Ridgely or Ridgley.
Westall had a brother, William Ridgley III (~1703–~1780).
Westall (23) married Sarah (Isaac) Ridgley (15) (born in 1714 in Queen Ann Parish, Prince George, Maryland; daughter of Richard O Isaac I and Sarah (Pottenger) Isaac) in 1730 in Anne Arundel, British America. Their known children were:
William ultimately settled in the Middle District of Frederick County, where he remitted quit-rents on "Ridgely's Rest" and "Resurvey on Ridgely's Rest" until his death in 1772.
Westall died in October 1772 in Frederick, Frederick, Province of Maryland, aged about 65.
His last will and testament, dated August 29, 1765, was probated in Frederick County on June 2, 1772, by Thomas Thrasher and John Thrasher.[2]
To wife Sarah all land during life including 125 acres "Ridgely's Rest", the dwelling-plantation and the entire personal estate; at her decease the estate to be divided among the following children: Westall, Sarah, William, Jane Diverela, Isaac, Jacob; Alice, Martha, Richard and Jemina.[2]

The two youngest children, Richard and Jemina, in the event of the death of his widow during minority were to select their guardians from among their brothers or sisters and to have "schooling". Sarah, the widow, died on December 11, 1789.
The son, Isaac Ridgely, married but died without issue. His will, dated May 5, 1791, was probated December 21, 1796, in Frederick County, though at the writing he declared himself of Washington County. He devised his wife, Elizabeth, the plantation in Frederick County known as Resurvey on Ridgely's Rest of 55¼ acres and all personal estate. At her decease the land was to revert to his nephew, Samuel, son of his brother, Richard. He am pointed, his brother, Richard, as the executor.
On September 27, 1791, Richard Ridgely of Frederick County purchased from his sister and brother-in-law, Henry Hill and Alice his wife of Newberry County, South Carolina, his sister's share in the parental plantation Ridgely's Delight of 215 acres in accordance with the will of their father, Westall Ridgely, which reverted to the heirs after the death of their mother, Sarah Ridgely, which occurred on December 11, 1789.
