John Riedy was born in 1797 in County Clare, Ireland, the son of ?

John married first Honora Cuddihy (1800-1870) in Ireland. Their children were all born in Ireland:

John immigrated to the USA arriving New York City Sep 1860 (his naturalization papers give same immigration date as his son James Riedy's). John declared his intention to naturalize in Kewaunee County, Wisconsin on 1 Nov 1860 and his petition to naturalize was granted 16 Oct 1877.^[5]

John Reidy [sic] appears in Coryville Town (now West Kewaunee), Kewaunee County in the 1865 Kewaunee Census.

In the 1870 US Census John Reidy [sic] 60 (1810) and wife Honora 55 (1815) appear with their youngest two children: James 32 (1848), and Katherine 16 (1854) appear in Pierce Township, Kewaunee County, WI.

John married second Dorothea Suelke as indicated in the 1880 US Census where John age 94 (1786?) a widower, sick from "old age" ,and Dorothea age 54 born Prussia are listed as father and mother in the household of Anton Sinka (Czech) in Pierce Township.

John passed away in 1880 and was buried in Holy Rosary Cemetery (where his 1st wife Honora was interred in 1870) in Kewaunee, Kewaunee County, Wisconsin.^[6]
