Biography

• Zenas (or Zenus) Riggs was born in New Jersey Colony in 1760. He fought in the American Revolution (many more details to be found). He married Jemima Genung (she died in 1833). Zenus died in New Jersey in 1847. He is buried in Williamsville-Moshure Cemetery, Vernon Township, Sussex County, New Jersey,

• A hasty search of the Readex subscription database, Early American Newspapers, yielded only one potentially useful article -- a letter addressed to "Zenas Riggs" was advertised by the Postmaster of Ludlowville, New York. This seems like it is certainly a different person.
