William was married twice; 1st: on 14 Sep 1795 Hannah Coates, 2nd: on 10 Aug 1818 Christianna Shipley. He had 11 children with Hannah (see her memorial) and 1 with Christianna: William Ripley (1820-1832)

The cemetery is also known as 'The Harrison Orchard Cemetery' It is located on the original homestead of John & Sarah Harrison There is no definitive knowledge on exact numbers of persons buried here Susan Hill's book: Some Cumberland County, Nova Scotia Cemeteries (1997) lists 17 people. A letter 1970's from Ernest Coates to Norman Fulmer Harrison (family historian) indicates there were 17 graves and that were only marked by mounds of earth and a field stone placed on each. Ernest's letter lists 11 names(William is #6).
