Oliver was born in 1861. Oliver Roach ... He passed away in 1897 [1]. He served in the U.S. Army during WW1, he single handedly captured a high ranking German General. His immediate Commanding Officer and the General above him took credit for the action. His Commanding Officer was later captured and spent the remaining war in a German Prison Camp. This came to my attention from a researcher who stumbled across the actual account while she was researching him.
Oliver was mentioned on a memorial in Patterson Cemetery, Patterson, Hardin County, Ohio, United States with a death date of 18 April 1897.[2]
