Francis Roberts was born in Ireland.

Francis Roberts was born in 1642^[1] in County Cork, Ireland. He was baptised on 20 January 1644 in Holy Trinity Christ Church, Cork.^[2][3] He was the eldest son and heir of Reverend Thomas Roberts and his first wife, Elizabeth Neville. He obtained a grant to Britfieldstown, County Cork under the act of settlement.^[1]

Francis married Anne Bustead on 6 June 1668.^[4]

Francis, a JP, fled to Bristol on 8 March 1689, was attainted, but returned to Cork in 1691 and died without issue in 1696^[3] or after 14 January 1696.^[5] This conflicts with a death date of 1668 in Burke's of 1863.
