Biography

James Howard Roberts was born in DeKalb, Tennessee[1] on the 8th of May, 1908[1][2] to John Roberts and Sarah Sandlin.

In 1910 he was living with his parents in princint 3 in Collin County, Texas[3]

In 1920 he and his parents were living in Springfield, Robertson County, Tennessee[4]

In 1930 he was living with his family was in Springfield, Robertson County, Tennessee[5]

He would marry Olean Lutshie Rigsby on the 26th of May, 1934 in Robertson County, Tennessee[6] and they would have:

In 1940 he and Olean would be living in Springfield, Robertsn County, Tennessee[7]

In October of 1940 he confirmed he was 6' 2 and 148 pounds with blue eyes, brown hair and a light complexion with a tatto on his right arm. At the time he was working for the Porter Brown Limestone Company in Springfield, Robertson County, Tennessee, at the time he wa sliving in 5 North Oak Street in Springfield[1]

He and Olean would divorce by 1950 as Olean is listed as divorced[9]and James is listed as seperated[13], both in Springfield.

He died on the 3rd of June, 1978[2] and would be buried in the Springfield Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Robertson County, Tennesse[14]

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn - James Howard Roberts, 70, of Fern Avenue, Nashville, a retired brickmason, died Saturday in Metro General Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Associated Funeral Home here.

Burial will be in Robertson County Memorial Gardens. - Survivors include a son, James Roy Roberts, Cross Plains, Tenn.; a stepson, Billy Farris, Osceola, Ind.; five daughters, Mrs. Judy Kay Bunch. Springfield. Mrs. Fay Pitt, Milldale, Tenn., Mrs. Brenda Remera, Denver, Colo., Mrs. Jean- Osceola; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Thelma Law, Nashville; two sisters, Miss Sara Roberts, Mexico, and Miss Hettie Roberts, Nashville, and grandchildren.
