James Robinson was born on 20 February 1837, in Eglish, County Armagh, Ireland. His father, Willam Robinson Sr, was 24 and his mother, Mary Jane Ellis, was 27. James, son of William Robinson & Mary, was baptized on 5 March 1837 in Eglish Parish, Armagh, Ireland.[1]
The family emigrated to New York in 1841..[2] In 1847 the family migrated to Pleasant Valley, Dundas County, Ontario, Canada.
James Robinson married Mary Ellen Ellis on 2 February 1858 in Matilda, Stormont Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of:
James Robinson (age 51), son of Wm Robinson & Jane Robinson, married Elizabeth "Eliza" McKnight Brown (age 42) on 8 January 1891 in Edwardsburgh Cardinal, Leeds and Grenville, Ontario, Canada.[7][8] They were the parents of:
Myrtle Mae Robinson (1890–1909), adopted, died young.
In the 1911 census James was the married head of household in Leeds and Grenville, Ontario, Canada.[2]

James Robinson died (age 84) on 29 July 1920 in Augusta, Leeds and Grenville United Counties, Ontario, Canada.[10] He was buried in the South Mountain Union Cemetery in South Mountain, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry United Counties, Ontario, Canada.[11]
