Ralph was born in 1760. Ralph Rogers ... He passed away in 1836. [1]
Ralph Rogers was born in the state of New Jersey near Trenton in March 1760 and had a record of his age he made from the information of his parents while living in South Carolina which he had in his possession at the time he applied for a Revolutionary War Veteran's pension. From the state of New Jersey his parents moved to South Carolina when he was about 12. At the age of 17, he volunteered to serve with the local militia to fight against the Tories and the British soldiers. He served off and on until 1782, and lived in South Carolina the whole time he was in the service during the Revolutionary War.
After the War, Ralph Rogers married Mary Gilkey Rogers. They had at least five children: Johnathon, John, Matthew, Clarissa and Edith. We have no record of Mary’s death. Mary Polly was likely Mary Gilkey’s daughter.
In 1805, he moved from South Carolina with some or all of his children to Jackson County, Tennessee where he lived in 1833. He bought land from John Fitzgerald, and settled on the Cumberland River at White's Bend, ~ mi. upstream from old Fort Blount. On a map, the river forms a large lnver-ted U at this point, about 5 miles west of Gainesboro. The community of WhIte's Bend is on the south side of the river, on the low-lying bottom land inside t he U. His son Ralph described his birthplace as "7 mi. from town on Grandpa [Matthew) Brooks' farm."
About 1809, Ralph Rogers married Mrs. Judith Morton (Goode) Lyles, the widow of Burgess "Bud" Lyles. Judith was born in 1783, daughter of Thomas Goode (1760-1846) and Sarah Hawkins (b. ca 1758, died 1846). Thomas Goode served as a Private in Capt. Hopkins Co., 6th VA Regt. in the Revolution. Several of the Goode family married Clarks in Christian County.
Judith Goode had married her first husband Burgess Lyles Feb. 3, 1802. He then then died in 1808. Judith and Bud had three children, Raymond, Hiram, and Lorenzo. Lyles died in Christian Co., KY in Aug 1808.
Three of Ralph's sons married Brooks sisters: Joseph B. married Nancy Brooks; William married Frances Brooks; and Clayton married Elizabeth Brooks.
Ralph Rogers was listed 1830 jackson Co., TN census and served Am Rev, under General Sumpter/Col Breannon
found this information on Ralph's sister and other siblings??? I am going to add it as notes to research in this profile. I have always wondered where the name McNeese came from...My great uncle was Hermit McNeese Clark. I see Ralph had a sister with that as her middle name.

Which is a record of a Ralph Rogers 1805 in Blount county. Also a Johnathon, Mathew, and William Rogers on this same pg.
The William Hamilton in question (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hamilton-6496) was in Blount TN circa 1790-1800, Livingston Ky 1800-1810, and Jackson TN by 1820-1869. If the Blount TN tax records for Ralph in 1805 (in1803 he's listed in Jackson county tax record)) is for this same Ralph it would be likely William's first wife was his daughter. There are at least 2 other Roger's families in Blount county at the same time so not sure where Elizabeth belongs...The marriage in Kentucky in 1810 (I'm assuming Christian county?) is interesting as it would put this Rogers family moving in conjunction with this Hamilton family from Blount TN to western Kentucky (Livingston county neighbors Christian county, was carved from it) to Jackson TN.
