Biography

George Rose was born about 07 Dec 1855^[1] in Windsor, New South Wales, Australia as the fourth child of Thomas Rose and Matilda Morris. He had ten siblings, namely: Thomas John, William James, Pryce, Charles, Elizabeth Catherine Harriett, Sarah Ann, Alfred, Matilda Jane, Andrew, and Edwin Charles. He died on 01 Nov 1944^[2] in St Albans, New South Wales, Australia. When he was 26, he married Amelia Ann, daughter of Thomas Bailey and Frances Eliza Fletcher, on 07 Nov 1882^[3] in St Albans, New South Wales, Australia.

^[4] THERE passed away on 1st inst., a widely-respected and lifelong resident of the Macdonald Valley in Mr George Rose, at the advanced age of 89 years. A native of the district, he was noted for his knowledge of cattle and his success in the rearing of stock generally. He was predeceased by his wife many years ago and resided with his son, Mr Clarrie Rose. A family of five sons and four daughters survives him. The interment took place on 3rd inst. in the Methodist cemetery, St. Albans, the Rev. M. E. Southwell officiating.
