Biography

Isabella of Ross is a member of Clan Barclay.

Isabella was the daughter of William, III Earl of Ross and Euphemia de Berkeley (Barclay), Countess of Ross.[1] In addition to Isabella, William and Euphemia had the following issue: [1][2][3]

On 1 June 1317, Edward Bruce, Earl of Carrick, was granted dispensation by the Pope to marry Isabella, due to their third and fourth degrees of consanguinity. It is doubtful, however, that the marriage ever took place, as Bruce died at the battle of Dundalk on 5 October 1318.[4][1] Assuming that Isabella may have been approximately 21 years of age at the date of the 1317 dispensation, her birthdate has been roughly estimated as occuring circa 1294.

Isabella's date and location of death are unknown. No sources were located that allow even a rough estimation of her year of death.
