Mary Roland was the daughter of John Roland. He mentioned her in his 1756 will, calling her the wife of Joseph Grebill. [1]
On 19 February 1753, Mary's husband, Joseph Crabille/Grabell, of Frederick County, Maryland, sold 20 acres of land to Jacob Funk, his brother-in-law (Jacob's wife, Ann, was Mary's sister). The land was part of a tract called Shippen's Neglect. Mary, Joseph's wife, relinquished her dower right to the land. [2]
On 18 November 1766, Mary's husband, Joseph Krebill, sold six parcels of land in Frederick County, Maryland, to her brother, Jacob Roland. Both of the men were residents of Frederick County at the time. The parcels were in the western part of the county, which a decade later became Washington County. The total area of the land was listed as 688 acres in the deed, although the numbers add to 698 acres. - [3]
