Jane was born in 1867. She was the daughter of William Rule and Caroline Richards. She married John Clemons in 1888 [1]She passed away in 1961. [2]
Mrs. John Clemens, 94, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. D. Kennedy, 505 S. West St., where she had lived for the past 10 years. The former Jane Rule, was born Feb. 24, 1867, at Camborne, Cornwall, England. She came to the United States and Olyphant, Pennsylvania about 1884. with her parents. She was married Sept. 13, 1888 at Negaunee to John Clemens. They came to Ironwood from Ishpeming in 1891 and lived here most of the time since then. Mrs. Clemens was preceded in death by her husband who died Oct. 29, 1955. The deceased was a charter member of the Lily of the Valley Rebekah Lodge and a member of the Newport Methodist Church and the Newport Women's Society of Christian Service. She was also the last remaining member of the Ironwood Women's Relief Corps. Surviving are two daughters and one son, Mrs. Gilford Ikenberry, Stillwater, Okla., Mrs. B. D. Kennedy, Ironwood and Chester Clemens, Coloma, Wis. Also surviving are a brother, Thomas Rule, Bessemer; a sister Mrs. Marshall Turner, Akron, Oh.; four grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Chappell-Zielinski Funeral Home which will be open to friends beginning at 4 this afternoon and evening. Entombment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Entombment was at Riverside Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Ray Clemens, Eugene Clemens, Robert Clemens, Axel Anderson, Carl Anderson, and Orlo Moon. Out of town persons attending were Mrs. Ruth Ikenberry of Stillwater, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Chester Clemens of Coloma, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Ray Clemens of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rule of Bessemer. Member of the Lily of the Valley Rebekah Lodge attended in a group and conducted the Lodge rites.
