Johanna Ryan, died of “old age and natural causes” on 16 June 1909 in Whanregarwen, Alexandra, Victoria (Document 2). She was 68 years old. Johanna was buried on Prepared for Karen Hexton (Hamilton 1) | Date: April 2023 www.progenealogists.com © 2023 AncestryProGenealogists® Page 4 of 6 17 July 1909 at Alexandra Cemetery. According to her death record, she was born in about 1841 in County Tipperary, Ireland, and migrated to Victoria, Australia, in about 1859. This location contradicts David J. Hamilton’s birth record, which named King’s County (County Cavan) as Johanna’s place of birth. County Tipperary is quite a distance from County Cavan. As Johanna herself probably supplied the information on the birth registration, it is more likely to be correct.
