Biography

John Sackett was born on 4 Nov 1660 in Northampton, Massachusetts to parents John Sackett and Abigail Hannum. He married first Deborah Filley on 1 Dec 1686 in Westfield, Massachusetts. Children: John, Abitail, Daniel, David, Benjamin, Deborah. After Deborah died in 1701 he married second Mehitable Danks on 17 May 1703 in Westfield, Massachusetts. Children: Isaac, Ezra, Israel, Eliakim, Mary. He died on 20 Dec 1745 in Westfield, Massachusetts.

"John, son of John and Abigail Hannum Sackett was born in Northampton, Massachusetts, November 4, 1660, died December 20, 1745. He was very much thought of in the town and was prominent in the various movements undertaken for its development. He was well over eighty years of age when he died and he had seen Westfield grow from a mere wilderness to a considerable and thriving community. He married (first) December 1, 1686, Deborah daughter of William and Margaret Filley, of WIndsor, Connecticut. His children by his first wife were John, Abigail, Daniel, David, Benjamin and Deborah."
