Hannah Salter, daughter of James Salter, was probably born near Ottery St Mary, Devon, England.[1]
Hannah married Philip Searle on 28 September 1657 at Ottery St. Mary[1][2] (banns posted 21 August 1657).[3] They had the following children, all baptized at Ottery St. Mary:
John, born 22 July, baptized 29 July 1658; married first Mary Ruggles and had children; married second Mary (Griggs) Fielder[1]
Philip, born 1 March, baptized 2 March 1660/1; married Hannah Ellis and had children[1]
Margaret, baptized 13 August 1664; married her cousin Ebenezer Searle[1]
James, baptized 12 August 1668; died 11 April 1738 in Stonington, Connecticut[1]
Hannah arrived in New England with her family before 11 September 1671, when Francis Ball was fined for "entertaining his brother in law Philip Searle and his family in his house without license from the selectmen whose answer was that he was to speedily remove to Roxbury".[1]
Hannah died 16 December 1691 in Roxbury, Massachusetts.[1][4]
