The baptismal record of Ebenezer's & Hannah's children spell the name Sampson. Some other records might show Samson (prob why I noted it elsewhere), but that is a contemporaneous record. Otherwise, this does seem to be the same person. So, no, I do not approve the merge changing the name to Samson.
Sampson-1665 and Samson-806 appear to represent the same person because: same person, spelling variation, feel free to reverse merge
