Biography

Born 20 May 1867 in St. George, Washington, Utah Territory, USA.[1]

Esther Louise Larson is born as sixth of seven children to the Norwegian immigrant John Larson and his wife, the English immigrant Amelia Weight.

6 Jan 1870 Esther is listed with her parents and six siblings living on a farm in St. George, Washington County, Utah.[2]

Esther's family moves further north, to Salt Lake County, sometime in 1870/1871, where Esther's father John Larson dies on 6 Aug 1871 of liver complaint at Draperville, Salt Lake County, Utah.[3] Her mother marries the laborer John George about 4 years later in 1875.

7 Jun 1880 Esther and two of her siblings are listed living in their oldest sister Amelia's household, who is married to the laborer Hyrum Cahoon, in South Cottonwood, Salt Lake County, Utah.[4] Her mother and second husband are living in the same area.

Esther marries George Scott about 1883. The young couple soon becomes parents of a daughter, Maggie Amelia Scott, who is born in 1884. Sometime after Maggie's birth, the young family moves to Denver, Colorado, where three more children are born: George Edward Junior Scott in 1888, Ninetta Scott in 1890 and Frank Armstrong Scott. They return to Murray, Utah sometime after Frank's birth though, where another son, John Henry Scott, is born in 1897.

13 Jun 1900 Esther and her family live on her mother's farm in Murray Precinct, Salt Lake County, Utah.[5]

Esther's oldest daughter Maggie marries Carl Hammond on 10 Jan 1905. The couple moves to Salt Lake City, where they raise four children.

In 1907 Esther's youngest son, Lee Weight Scott, is born.

Sometime in the late 1900s Esther's son George moves west to try his luck in California. Her son Frank works on the farm of Esther's brother-in-law in Deseret, Millard County, Utah. I assume Esther's husband George was already sick at the time and maybe not able to work and the older boys left home early not to be a burden on the family.

22 May 1910 George and Esther own a house in Murray City, Salt Lake, Utah now.[6] George is listed without work.

Esther's husband dies from acute cardiac dilatation on 3 Jan 1911.[7]

Esther's son Frank marries Ruby Palmer of Deseret, Millard, Utah on 2 Oct 1913. They stay in Utah and have six children together.

Esther's son John marries Eliza Goodridge on 17 Jul 1918 and becomes the father of a son.

12 Jan 1920 Esther is listed living with her daughter Nina, her youngest son Lee and her brother-in-law Henry. They rent a home at 81 West 5th Ave in Murray City, Utah.[8]

Esther's son John dies from injuries (fracture of skull and neck) he suffered in result of an accident probably during work on 21 Oct 1920.

15 Apr 1930 Esther is still living with her childern Nina and Lee. They own a house at 480 J Street in Salt Lake City now.[9]

Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Buried at the Murray City Cemetery in Murray, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA.[12]
