Biography
Althea was born on 18 Jan 1839 in Friendship, Allegany, New York.
Taken from obituary from a newspaper clipping on Find A Grave website: Mrs. Altha Coats died at the Friendship General Hospital. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Justus Scott and was born in 1839. She is survived by two sons, W.H. Niver of Coolidge, Kansas and Warren Coats of Buffalo and one sister Mrs. Mary Taylor of Lisbon, North Dakota. She married in 1858 to John Nivers. He served in the Civil War. She was married to Elias B. Coats in 1864. They had a son Warren. Elias died in 1887. Among others, an attendee at the funeral was George A. Scott of Waverly, New York.
Discrepancy: Find A Grave shows first name as Alta, newspaper clipping of obituary shows name as Altha.
Buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship, Allegany County, New York.
