Biography

James Seals, son of Wilburn R Seals and Elizabeth Ann Stracener was born Sep 1844[1] (Unsourced records have suggested "N" for middle initial but that doesn't appear on any of his official documents or land transactions, RHSeale MD|May 2022

"James Seale" married "Mary S Jenkins," both of St Clair county 21 Dec 1866, in St Clair county, Alabama.[2]

They were in Alabama until at least 1873, and moved to Arkansas by 1877 (children's birth records). James and Susan lived in the area around Umpire, Arkansas James moved to Paducah, Cottle, Texas after the death of his wife, and may have lived there with his son Forgia and wife Nettie.

Death

James died circa Feb 1922 and is probably buried in Paducah, Cottle, TX.[3]

In 1889 James received a Howard county land grant of 160 acres in Sec. 17, Twp 6S, R28W, adjacent to land owned by his brother Lewis. [8]

18 Dec 1896, James Seales purchased 20 acres a few miles northeast of the above, from Roy and E M Faulkner.[9]

1917, 27 Oct, James Seales, living in Cottle county, Texas, sells the 2 Howard county Arkansas land parcels (from 1889 and 1896) to T N Crowder. (Thomas Crowder is James' son-in-law)[12]
