Biography
Sanford Search was born in 1841 in Warren County, Indiana. He was the son of William C. Search and Susannah A. Russell. At age 9, he was in his parent's home in Liberty, Warren County, Indiana along with his siblings in 1850.[1] His father died when sanford was 11 years old.
He served in the Civil War, in the 135th Regiment, Indiana Infantry from 1861-1865.[2]
He was a Farmer by profession. He never married. He was in his neice, Mary Pinkston's home in 1880, at age 35, in Waterfore, Stanislaus County, California, where he was farming.[3] By 1910, he was in Oakdale, Stanislaus County, California on Chamith Street working as a Farm Laborer. His widowed sister, Mary Williamson-74, was living with him.[4]
He died on March 13, 1922 in Napa County, California.[5]
