Jane was born about 1802 almost certainly the daughter of Patrick and Elizabeth Seay.
In 1819 at Bangor Abbey she married William Henry Telford.
Jane resided at Bangor, Down, Ireland from at least the time of her marriage until she emigrated with all her surviving children to what was known then as Van Diemens Land (Tasmania), Australia.
She arrived in Hobart, Tasmania aboard the vessel "Coromandel" in Jul 1853.
She died of 'Old Age and Natural Decay' at Deloraine, Tasmania on 7 August 1877.
