William Finley and "Gen." Samuel Finley served in Captain Sheppard's Co. 2nd NJ Batt. of Salem County; William was wounded at Hancock's Bridge, 21 March 1778. This is probably a descendent of the same Shepard as Priscilla, based on family associations. This record is located at: History of Gloucester and Salem Counties, New Jersey.
