Biography

Francis was a Friend (Quaker)

Francis Shinn was born October 25, 1706 in Burlington, New Jersey.^[1] He is a son of James Shinn and Abigail Lippincott.^[2]

Francis married Elizabeth Atkinson on October 3, 1729 at the Quaker meeting in Burlington, Burlington, New Jersey. ^[3] They lived on a farm given to him by his father. They raised all nine children together there in their 54 year marriage.^[1] Elizabeth died in 1783.^[4]

Francis died some time before May 1, 1789 when the will was proven in New Hanover Township, Burlington, New Jersey.^[5]
