He was married to Cely her maiden name is unknown at this time. They had nine children.

  1. First-hand information as remembered by Harry Rudd, Wednesday, December 10, 2014.
  • Named administrator of his father's estate in Richland County, South Carolina on March 11, 1826. Found in 1830 U.S. Federal Census, Richland County, South Carolina. In 1832 Jacob purchases and sells land in Houston County, Georgia. In 1840's Jacob appears in Houston County, Georgia Tax Records as owning land lot #30 (202 1/2 acres ). Found in 1850 U.S. Federal Census, Houston County, Georgia. Jacob died without a will in 1859 and his son Ephraim was named administrator of the estate. Records from Houston County, Georgia Probate were essential in documenting Jacob's descendants. Jacob is said to be buried in the Shirah Cemetery which is located just off Housers Mill Road in Peach County, Georgia on land previously owned by Oliver Bateman of Macon.
  • Temporary administrator bond 1859 names Ephraim Shirah as administrator of Jacob Shirah's will.

Shirah-125 and Shirah-30 do not represent the same person because: Jacob Shirah 125 died in Richland County, SC in 1826. He was the FATHER OF Jacob Shirah 30 who died in Houston County, GA in 1859.
