MR. A. J. SHOESMITH The death occurred on Friday of Mr. Arthur James Shoesmith, of Stevenson street, Taree. Deceased was 55 years of age, and in our next issue we will give fuller particulars. The remains were interred in the Dawson cemetery on Saturday. Major Vines conducted the service, and Mr. W. T. Howard, was the undertaker. |

MR. JAS. SHOESMITH As briefly stated in our last issue, the death occurred at his home, Stevenson street, Taree, at 6 p.m. on Friday, of Mr. James Shoesmith, aged 55 years. Early in the year deceased became ill, and for six weeks he was a patient in the M.R.D. Hospital. Deceased was a son of Mrs. Shoesmith, of Grafton, and the late Humphrey Shoesmith, of Laurieton. He was born at Mambo Island, and lived in the district all his life, following the occupation of a carrier. He is survived by his widow (formerly Mrs. Williams, of New Zealand). There are no children. Brothers surviving him are Messrs. Alf. Shoesmith (Grafton), John and Humphrey Shoesmith (Laurieton). The other brother, William, predeceased him, and also a sister, Mrs. Bert Tisdell, of Gloucester. Two married sisters are living. At 2 p.m. on Saturday Major Vines conducted a Service at the home, and then the funeral proceeded to the Dawson cemetery. The Salvation Army band preceded the hearse to Brown's Creek bridge. Mr. W. T. Howard carried out the funeral arrangements. |
