Robert Frederick Sholl was born on 27 August 1848 in Bunbury, Western Australia, the son of Robert John Sholl JP (1819-1886) and Mary Ann (Berckelman) Sholl (abt.1822-1889).^[1][2]

He was a land speculator, a mining investor, a pearler and a politician.^[2]

He married Elizabeth Cosgrove in 1878 in New South Wales.^[1] Their children were:^[1]

• Bessie Sholl (1879–1919)
• Frederic Robert Sholl (1882–1927)
• Fanny Sholl (1884–?)
• Guy Trevarton Sholl (1886–1931)

Robert died in 1909.^[1][3][4][5]
