Biography
Joseph Landford Siler [1][2]was born in 1846 in Whitley County, KY and died on September 10, 1868. His parents are Hedrick Benjamin Siler (b 05/25/1805 in Knox Co, KY) and Jennie Warren (b. 04/30/1808 in Knox Co, KY). According to a Siler Family Book by A.O. Siler, Joseph was murdered. He was only 22 yrs old when he died and never married.
1850 U.S. Census[3] – Ben and Jane (Warren) Siler are living in Whitley County, Kentucky with 13 children: William (24 yrs), Sally (Sarah) (22 yrs), Nanny (Nancy) (20 yrs), Alvin (Adam) (19 yrs), Jesse (17 yrs), Rachel (15 yrs), Melinda (15 yrs), Margaret (10 yrs), Huy (Henry) (9 yrs), Biddy (6 yrs), Lankford (4 yrs), James (2 yrs) and Jane (1 yrs). Ben is a farmer.
1860 U.S. Census[4] – Benjamin and Jane Siler are living in Whitley County, Kentucky with 5 children: Jesse (22 yrs), Henry (17 yrs), Joseph (12 yrs), James (9 yrs) and Mary (8 yrs). Benjamin is a farmer.
