Biography
Marie Rose Sirois [dite Duplessis] was born on 4 Apr 1763 and was baptized the next day in Saint-Louis parish in Kamouraska. She was the daughter of Joseph Sirois and Marie-Anne Levasseur. Godparents at Marie Rose's baptism were Louis Michaud and Marie Rose Nadeau. At age 28 Marie Rose 28 married Jean-Francois-Regis Dumont on 6 Nov 1791 in Kamouraska. Marie Rose died at age 81 on 7 Jun 1844; she was buried the next day in Saint-Louis parish cemetery.
NOTE: Named as mother in the baptismal and marriage records of her children: Jean-Baptiste, Marie, Marie Angélique, Firmon, Madeleine, Marcel, Celeste, Joseph Amable, Louis Alexandre, and Marie Christine.
