Biography
I was born on October 3, 1960 to JT and Melcena (Horn) Skaggs in Wichita, Kansas. I have one sibling, an older brother, Terry Lynn Skaggs born on August 7, 1959.
My father worked as a bus mechanic at Continental Trailways Bus Company in Wichita at the time of my birth. My parents moved back to their hometown of Vian, OK when I was still pre-school age. We lived in the Blackgum community.
I attended school at Vian and graduated high school there in 1978. In May 1982, I graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK with a bachelors degree in accounting.
I began working in June 1982 at Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, OK. The company merged with Conoco in 2002 and is now known as ConocoPhillips. I retired June 2021.
I met my husband, Carl Glen Gibson, while attending college at Northeastern State University. We married on March 16, 1991 and have three children. We made our home in Nowata, OK.
