Biography

Charles married Albina Peirce in Gillingham, Kent on 13 November 1827^[1].

At the time of the 1841 England and Wales Census, Charles, John, Georgiana, Emma, and Rosa Slade were listed as living in Grange, Kent, along with Charles' brother-in-law Thomas Peirce, sister-in-law Elizabeth Peirce, and Lydia Wellard^[2].

At the time of the 1851 England and Wales Census, Charles, John G, Georgina, Emma E, and Rosa A Slade were listed as living in Gillingham, Kent, along with Charles' sister-in-law Elizabeth Peirce^[3]. At the time of the census, Charles was listed as a widower, and his occupation was listed as "Navy Clerk In The Civil Service Chatham Yard".

At the time of the 1861 England and Wales Census, Chas., J.G., G. A., E. E., and R. E. Slade were listed as living in Gillingham, Kent, along with a visitor named E. S. P. (probably Charles' sister-in-law, Elizabeth S Peirce), and a servant^[4]. At the time of the census, Charles' occupation was listed as "Clerk H M Dockyard".

At the time of the 1871 England and Wales Census, Charles, Georgiana A, Emma E, and Rosa S E Slade were listed as living in Gravesend, Kent, along with Charles' sister-in-law Elizabeth I Peirce, and a servant^[5].
