Helen Louise Nevels, 74, of Lexington, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at Layfayette Regional Health Care Center, Lexington, MO. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, at the Walker-Nadler Chapel in Lexington; burial in Lexington Memory Gardens. Friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund. Mrs. Nevels was born October 3, 1925, in Lawson, MO , the daughter of James A. and Georgia (Ray) Sloan. She was a homemaker and married Aymon Nevels on October 27, 1944. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lexington, MO. Survivors include her husband, Aymon Nevels, of the home; son, Michael and wife, "Gail" Nevels, of Lee's Summit, MO ; daughters, Carol Nevels of the home, Thurza and husband "Bill" Falls, of Richmond, MO , Elaine Willard of Raymore, MO ; nephew, Omar Melvin Sloan of Long Beach, CA; five grandsons; one great-grandson; two brothers and two sisters.
