Biography

Martha Victoria "Vi" Smartt (married names Vine, then Quinn, then Swanson was born on 23 May 1882 in Gembrook, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Bertha Emma Caroline (Beer) Smartt and Henry Augustus Smartt.^[1]

She married Edward James Vine in May 1901 in Victoria.^[2] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}

Vi and Ted's marriage ended in July 1926.^{[citation needed]}

Vi remarried in 1926 in Western Australia, to Maurice Basil Quinn.^[3]

Victoria remarried after Maurice's death, to Ernest Harry Swanson who died on 17 March 1965.^[5]

Martha died on 7 March 1975 at Mount Pleasant, Western Australia, aged 92 years.^[6]
