Biography

John was born in 1689[1]. He is the son of John Smith and Susannah Marcy. Married first Hannah Boyer, passed meeting 20 Feb 1712 [1]. Secondly, John and Sarah Sedden passed meeting 22 Feb 1719 [1,2].

I attached a link to the page in Craig’s book. It just has ‘Salem’ with the inventory date. No reference to Amwelbury. Please remove. Thanks. Betty
Richard, Thanks for removing Ann Test as a wife. This John did not die in Amwellbury. That was the farm of the other Smith family. I expanded that profile. Hope that helps.

There were two John Smiths. The one who married Ann Test was John of Amwelbury, Salem Co. NJ. He was not John Jr. This John's father died when he was young. See John Smith (abt.1692-1749). He died in 1749, which fits with her being called Ann Dennis later.

Smith-245029 and Smith-176061 appear to represent the same person because: Birth date actually 1689 per H. Stanley Craig, Salem County Genealogical Data, Vol 1, first print apx 1930, reprinted 1980, p 235.
