John Vinson was born in Warren County, Tennessee, in the summer of 1901 to William Smith and Maudy Blanton.[1][2] He married Dovie Ethelinda Evans, daughter of John William Evans and Sarah Agnes Cantrell, in the summer of 1920.[3] They had four known children:[4][5]
1922-1997: Wauleen
1928-2017: James Linwood
1930-2019: Maudie Agnes
1931-2020: Neely Marie
Dovie died in the spring of 1982.[6] John lived another twelve years, passing in May 1984.[7] They are buried together in Blues Hill Cemetery in Warren County, Tennessee.[8]
