Esther Smith was born on 4 November 1776 in Chatham Co., North Carolina. She died before 1860 in Adair Co., Missouri and was buried in Adair Co., Missouri. Esther married Sampson Capps in 1796 in Chatham Co., North Carolina. Esther was a Quaker going to meetings at Cane Creek Monthly Meeting House in North Carolina. She was disowned 1797,11,4 for marrying out of unity when she married Sampson Capps.
