'Kenneth (Jim) was an apprentice at Leng's brush factory at the outset of WW2. He was conscripted into the Royal Engineers and spent the war in West Africa, working in the forestry service. After the war, he and his brother worked mainly for Burman and Co., car transmission manufacturers.
