On March 19, 1823, Sylvanus Snow married Olive Linnell, b: Nov. 26, 1802, in Orleans, Barnstable, Massachusetts. They settled in Orleans, on Cape Cod and had 12 children:

Her husband survived her passing. On July 23, 1871, at 70 years old, he remarried to Elizabeth Braer b: 1813 in England. They had no children together. Sylvanus G. Snow died on October 9, 1879, in Orleans, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts. He was buried next to his first wife in the Orleans Cemetery, East Orleans, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, USA.[2]
