Appears in the Sutherd Family Data as George A. R. Southard but appears twice in the Southard Family Record in the 1883 Agriculture Report as George Andrew J. and as George J.

George was born on 17 September 1863 at Madison Co., Virginia. He was the son of Robert Franklin Southard and Elizabeth Harriet Colvin. He married Emily Francis Weakley on 19 March 1885 at Madison Co., Virginia. George died on 2 May 1939 at Madison Co., Virginia, at age 75.^[1]
