I have used the flag for Bolivia with an immigrant in a migration sticker, see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Banzer-31

Is this ok?

I see no problem, Sven. It looks good. Regards, Patrick

Since Dominican Republic is listed, shouldn't Haiti be listed also? Or is it omitted because its official languages are French & Haitian Creole? Let me know if it should be added & I'll do so. It is already listed on the Space: Flags of North America & I'm about to add it to Space: Caribbean Flag Images.

Cheers, Liz

The term Latin America sometimes excludes the Dutch-, French-, and English-speaking countries. However, another definition includes those countries, as well as Puerto Rico, which is not a country. A simplified definition is sometimes used, to include all of the Americas south of the United States. Finally, a few sources use the alternative term "Latin America and the Caribbean". Since the term is obviously flexible, I vote for including Haiti in the WikiTree list.

update - I've finished work on Space: Flags of North America. See the table for Independent Caribbean States & the table for Territories in North America (mostly in the Caribbean, Greenland being the notable exception).

The things WikiTree teaches me!! North America by most accounts is defined as encompassing 23 "officially recognized independent states" plus 22 territories (including Puerto Rico) - see the lists at https://www.countries-ofthe-world.com/countries-of-north-america.html

When I asked the question about Haiti, I had no idea!!

I've added a Flags of Central America page & started a reworking of the Flags of North America page, to include all 45, but presented in separate tables. So far I have Canada, the USA, and Mexico (north-> south) in one, the Central American countries in another, and the rest that were listed in the second table (I need to start comparing what was on the page with the list 22 territories - some must be there since the page had more than 23 flags).

So... I think you'd be ok with leaving Haiti off this page, especially since it is clearly identified as a project page.

The term Latin America doesn't exclude Haiti, Haitians speak Haitan Creole and French, a latin language. Haiti should be added here if we consider French is one of it's national languages.
